In Wounds of the City, a video and installation, featuring broken an fixed bollards among other City wounds, the poetic lyrics projects a narrative of pain into pathologised (almost hospitalised) objects. Yet gestures of repair offer some sort of response and communication to these anguished misfits for bedfellows. In an attempt to come together, to resolve past grievances, the wounds become more exposed and prevalent to the viewer. They are isolated in position and documented for a timeless record of their fractured form. The objects and poetics might work as a metaphor or a man weeping, reflecting introspectively, in the crowd, ignored as passers-by pursue their daily lives.
